This Convection Ovens give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Looks and works great, not practical for everyday use
This unit cooks and toasts great. This is my first convection type toaster oven and I love it. The stainless steel look blends in very well with modern kitchens. But it has the following drawbacks:

-Pretty loud - when you touch a button (any button) the thing beeps loudly. So if you are making toast first thing in the morning, you will wake everyone in the house up. (I immediately ripped out beeping thing from the circuit board, not recommended for the electrically challenged!)

- The cooking does not stop when you open the door.

- If sitting on the kitchen counter, you have to stoop down to see into the unit through the glass door.

- You have to virtually flip the machine over to empty the bottom hinged crumb tray.

- The unit has a digital clock. Just another clock you have to set after a power outage. A toaster oven really doesn't need a digital clock AND a digital timer, but that is my opinion.

On the flip side,...

2. Good product for everyday use
Great item for a single person, not sure how it would hold up for a large family - would be too small to be useful.

I received the Krups convection oven for Christmas, and it's become one of the few kitchen appliances that I use on a regular basis, definitly more than I use my stove! So far, it's been great for toast, reheating pizza and frozen foods. I tried baking pre-made frozen cookies and it didn't do so well. I found that it took alot longer than the package said and the cookies were slightly burnt although they still didn't look done. (But it could have been the cookies, frozen cookies suck anyway)

I agree with the other reviewer, the beeping is very loud and annoying. You can't set it to toast or cook something without hearing at least 5 to 10 loud beeps, but it wakes you better than a cup of coffee=)

All in all, it's a quality, heavy duty product that I use everyday and can't live with out.

from zero to 500F...always
The Krups sounds convenient, but if you need ease of use and safety, do not buy this! It is pre-set to 500F temp and 30 minute cooktime as the DEFAULT settings for bake, broil AND convection modes. The timer defaults back to 30 minutes. The digital display isn't labeled for easy reading. The temperature is not easy to adjust. The toaster setting automatically goes to Medium, is pre-set for timing and it is not intuitive or easy to set intermediate degrees for doneness or toasting. The wire rack is set in one position only, close to the base heating element, so toast will always be darker on one side than the other. Not worth the money, even though I got the unit for FREE - am returning it to Krups. Does not meet the standards for easy or safe operation that I associate with the Krups brand.
